M+ proudly presents Special Exhibition 'Picasso for Asia: A Conversation' with Musée national Picasso-Paris

The groundbreaking exhibition will bring together more than sixty works by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and around eighty works by Asian and Asian-diasporic artists from the M+ Collections
This exhibition interprets Pablo from a new and unique perspective. The profound influence of Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881–1973) explores the complex relationship between origins and echoes, creation and evolution, and the West and the non-West. The Musée National Picasso in Paris has the largest and most important collection of Picasso's works in the world. The museum will lend more than 60 Picasso masterpieces to dialogue with about 80 M+ collections, which are from more than 20 Asian and The creations of overseas Asian artists span from the early 20th century to today.
"Picasso: Dialogue with Asia" is co-curated by M+ and the Musée National Picasso in Paris, and presented in conjunction with Le French May. It is the first large-scale Picasso exhibition to be held in Hong Kong in more than a decade, showcasing the twentieth-century European An unprecedented cross-cultural and cross-generational dialogue between masters and contemporary Asian artists.
The main works on display in the exhibition include "Acrobat" (1930), "Portrait on the Seaside" (1931), "Still Life on a Pedestal" (1931), "Dora. Portrait of Mal" (1937) and "The Korean Massacre" (1951). Among the M+ collections are Isamu Noguchi, Chen Fushan, Gu Dexin, and Nalini. Works by artists such as Marani, Keiichi Tanaami and Hye-kyu Yang, as well as new works commissioned by M+, will be displayed alongside works by Picasso.
